Richmond Dive Club – September 2022 Membership Meeting

Meeting held at O’Toole’s Restaurant and Pub Forest Hill Ave. Richmond and Virtually via Zoom.

Club President, Jim Dacey began the meeting at 6:58 pm.

SWAP MEET

  • Jim discussed the scuba gear swap meet being held in the back meeting room of O’Toole’s beginning at 6 pm.

DIVE DESTINATIONS

  • Jim asked members about any recent trips.
  • Members discussed dive trips taken or upcoming to the following locations:

     o Debi Moir is heading to Roatan at the end of September

     o Robert Siemers is recently back from Bonaire

     o Reenie Kennedy is planning a trip to Bonaire

     o Mark Easter recently dove the Blue Heron Bridge and did Goliath Grouper dives in Jupiter, FL. He also just returned from diving                  the St. Lawrence River in Canada with temperatures at 74 degrees, top to bottom.

     o Ivan is headed to Beaufort to dive with Discovery Divers.

DIVER DAYS

  • Discussed the final RDC Diver Day for 2022.

     o Sunday, 9/18. Member Appreciation Day

     o Members Only Raffle

  • Jim discussed the next for new members to step up to take on BOD roles for next year.
  • The following positions will need to be filled as the incumbents will not be able to continue after this term ends.

PRESENTATION

  • 10 Tips to Equipment Care

     o Bill Sawyer of Fluvana Dive Center provided an excellent and informative presentation on what to look for in the dive gear you                 purchase and how best to care for and service your equipment.

  • Presentation ended at 8:05 pm.

The next meeting will be held on October 11, 2022, at O’Toole’s Restaurant and Pub at 7 pm, with the meeting also broadcast virtually on Zoom.
